The Parameters
Better Bean Coffee was a project given with certain aspects and elements that needed to be met. I welcomed the challenge! I was super excited for this assignment. Collectively I estimate that I spent a good 30 hours in the span of five days creating this site. One thing we were absolutely not allowed to do was to use a coffee shop built template Wix provides. All of the text content is what I wrote.
The Assignment:
The website had to have at least three pages (main, info, contact). We had to include images and detailed information about in-store products, provide testimonials/reviews from current customers, offer online members club for returning customers that includes a discount on various products/purchases as well as emphasize that this coffee shop is a "friendly and relaxing environment with free Wi-Fi".
A company background was also provided. It is located near a University in Java Town, USA, their target audience is mainly between the ages of 18-24, most likely students, and large diversity. The creative side to things was completely up to us - typography, color schemes, format, layout, etc.
I feel like I did well designing the site and including everything required of us. I was excited when I received my grade for the assignment, my professor was really impressed. He liked the images used, color scheme as well as the color contrast. My navigation worked like it should. My professor also liked how well I paid attention to detail.

The Breakdown
These are the logos that I created for the website. After I created the header for the homepage of the site, I decided to forgo the logos with the coffee mug. I ended up using the middle one.
This is a screenshot of the menu created. This page was by far the most time-consuming! I learned a lot about coffee, roasts, different blending methods - I didn't know so much about coffee before. I also included tea and pastries. We had to price them and I felt that they needed a sentence or two about what they are and how they are made.
The Rewards Page. The images on either end weren't difficult, it was the two in the middle that challenged me. I wanted to be different and not sound like everyone else. This is what I came up with. The monthly deals weren't too difficult after I thought about it and happened to be listening an hour of commercials. The Boys Hope Girls Hope is an actual organization for academically capable children in need. After I figured out the monthly deals, I was able to figure out the Loyalty Bean Card. I kept it simple.
About Us! I developed a story and made it seem authentic - at least that is what I was going for. I feel like I did a good job with the wording and the detail within what goes into an about us page.
